A lotta single truck operations ......The Driver cant afford (or chooses not to) hire outside services for ifta irp etc....

And its too much work for him to Drive all week..Then do Arithmatic for hours.....They just Figure an 'average' number on miles and Gallons and stuff....

Kinda like Tax Time.............No receipts,Cause they Hate paperwork cluttering...They Just Average out their gross/Net earnings for the year..

And for the record..NO, Not every customer/Broker sends you a 1099..Lucky to get half of them.

And you know WHY they dont send them right?? Winner winner chicken dinner for BOTH of you.......

OMG this is horrible advice. I just imagine what the IFTA auditor would have told me if I said, "Sorry, fuel no receipts. Mickey Melon in the internet said I don't need them."

Until they get audited and get their IFTA license yanked.

    Agreed......Which begs the question then..

Is there enough revenue in trucking to compensate for these extra-curricular activities??

Think about it before you answer..........you gotta do quarterly IFTA..Annual IRP filings......quarterly road tax filings with NY,KY,NM,OR

Plus keep track of all your expenses..AND drive the truck 60-70 hours a week..AND raise a family and take care of a home..

Think about it HARD before youy answer

    Pfft!

UCR, ACE, ACI, NYHUT, TWIC, DATA Q, WSIB, CPP, EI, IRP plate renewal, emissions tests, FDA transponders renewal, passport renewal, CDL renewal, annual safeties, business registration renewal, income tax filing, HST tax filing....

Don't have to think hard at all.

Ok? So what are you telling me then? My question was Is their enough revenue in trucking to support those activities for a 1 truck operation?

    Are you even a driver?

I suppose everyone's answer is different but my answer is no (thought it was obvious). Way better to spend $40K on an education of some type than on a truck.

Cook, bottle washer, compliance and paperwork doer and yes sometimes a driver when we get busy. Three trucks.
