I will remove my own trash but have a problem when other drivers leave a truck looking like a pig pen. I've had more than one occasion when I've jumped in a truck and the floor was completely covered in trash, every thing from empty pop/water bottles to empty food wrappers. I even found chicken bones under the seat and pizza crust on the dash. A quick mention to the night manager and the normal day driver had it cleaned out the next day.
What is more annoying was the practice putting the truck in park and not setting the brakes. Pretty sure the driver heard the warning chime that goes off when you don't set the brakes on a Freightliner. When he had this truck changed to an International that didn't have park I think he learned to set the brakes really fast when he realized the truck was rolling.
I like keeping the windshield clean as well, even on the inside. Some of our drivers use GPS and the mounts can leave a ring on the window. So there have been plenty of times when I cleaned the inside of the windshield with a truck stop squeegee while fueling up.

Since we don't get assigned trucks... Pretty much every YRC truck is disgusting inside... Guys just don't care. I once complained to management and all they said was those are your teamster brothers yell at them. When I was in the city my tractor was spotless, I had cleaned every inch. Then other guys would drive it and leave it a mess. I'd always find out who it was which normally either resulted them cleaning it or I'd take their trash and through it all around their truck along with my trash

Yeah I love it when you hop in a truck and go figure it is the last one left out in the lot and the guy has spit his chewing tobacco all over the truck and it smells like a horses behind. I would hate to see there house

One guy left almost a bag load of garbage in my truck one time and it was the last time because I knew he left his personal vehicle unlocked I saved up a weeks worth of garbage and fast food and old stale pizza and at the end of the week I threw it all in his car well yeah I got a few days off but it felt so good
OPUS 7 Thanks this. -
City and line rigs are kept in separate parts of the parking lot at OD. so generally we don't touch each other's trucks, but sometimes I'll have to climb into a smokey truck if someone steals mine. assigned trucks are a good deal.

I'm assigned two tractors, and i cant stand to have trash in them. And dirty windows irk my nerves. Dont have to worry about other drivers, i'm the only ine that uses them.

I smoke in my truck. But one thing you'll never find in it is trash on the floor. That's rediculous. It gets vacuumed and the ashtray gets sucked out when I get fuel.
I'm drawing the line though at supplying my own Armor All to go over the inside with, on my own time. -
Im glad Im not the only one.Im in a loaner right now.
Its a nasty trash can.Its got stains,and things in it,I can't
even recognize.Im honestly considering relocating my employment
over nasty trucks.
I try to buy cheap seat covers, steering wheel covers,
spray it all down with Lysol, but the nasty won't go away.
I smell like shinitq after riding in some of these trucks all day.
I don't wanna be a dirty pig.I don't understand why its gotta be
like this?Imagine whats on the steering wheel, and everything else
piglet has touched in his day of being a slob. -
I can't stand pig drivers either. I share my truck with someone and he's always on the nerve if I accidentally leave something in it but Jes the last to talk as I'm always cleaning the truck up and he never writes it up at the end of the day
