Well, a standard over the road semi, by law, can not weigh more than 12,000 pounds, 12,500 if you have an apu unit.
So, it would have to be truck and trailer. -
12000 lbs??? I would venture to say all otr standard trucks with a sleeper weigh at lease 16-17000 lbs.....stillwurkin, Oldironfan, fordconvert and 4 others Thank this.
-
He's not asking about the weight limit on the steer tires, and the APU exemption isn't allowed in every state.Oldironfan and CrappieJunkie Thank this.
-
Not exactly sure what you're asking, but a truck and trailer combined weight with full fuel tanks is more like 30,000 to 35,000 pounds if it's a sleeper truck.Oldironfan and CrappieJunkie Thank this.
-
Class A allows you to operate a vehicle in excess of 2600 pounds either singly or in combination
Oldironfan Thanks this. -
Combined weight has to be more than 26,001 lbs with a trailer more than 10,000 lbs to qualify for a class A.
That is weight ratings, not actual weight.
What were you hoping to use? More than likely we can tell the pros and cons of any combo. You might have to worry about restrictions like 5th wheel and air brake depending on unit tested with.Oldironfan and jammer910Z Thank this. -
