I gave an incorrect opinion about PM's on another thread and have found out some good info for us as a result.

A shop will not or cannot perform PM's without having the system reflect its time( M5 code for maintenance). Basically SEM inputs the PM work order and only they can do so. Mileage on the window clings are irrelevant. What is relevant are the windows for PM's , which are about 3-4 weeks @ 3 months between PMs.

Being dedicated myself. knowing that I'm off every weekend makes it simple for me to get these scheduled. You OTR drivers have a tougher chore in getting these done without sitting too long.

Your DBL has access to when the windows will be in effect. If it can be coordinated with scheduled TAH , try to get it scheduled ahead of time. . If not, good luck.

Just thought this could help folks in the future.

That is really good to know. According to the sticker on my windshield my truck is overdue for a pm and I've been wondering why my dbl hasn't said anything to me about it. It must just not be in the window yet.

you will receive an automated message via qualcomm stating what the window is about a week or so before the window begins, if memory serves. it will continue to be sent about once a week until the PM is done and the work order associated with it is cleared from the system.

Are you basing your overdue off the mileage written down?

Don't bother with the decal. Just wait till the qc message appears. If you opt to do it at a oc away from home, do it at night and get a hotel 🏨 room. Less stressful this way.

Would the hotel room come out of my own pocket or is that something Schneider would pay for?

If your a company driver and truck is in shop at night then sni pays for it. You have to call dbl and have them make the reservation.

Ok thanks and yes company driver. I'd love to be able to pick my own loads but I don't have my 6 months in yet so I can't look into going IC. There is also the financial considerations.

i would just stick to company driver for a while and talk to a few ic/oo before you decide. talking to a couple of them may sway your decision heavily. if you are looking to make schneider more money with more headache, ic is for you. remember, just because it says 200k a year gross doesnt mean you will even see 20% of that as take home pay.
