That's because after living here for 12 years and for most of this time living among Americans (it has changed since I moved to Chicago though) I essentially became an American. An American with strange accent (which BTW some women find quote interesting end of quote).-)

    Well, ok then.
Run! Don't walk to your nearest recruiter. Tell them you want a piece of the pie. NOW!
Don't listen to all these Debbie downers, they're just trying to keep you away from the good life so they can have it all to themselves. These bunch of selfish ***sterds make me sick. Ptooey. The truth of the matter is that in trucking everyday is a holiday and every meal is a feast. You will be treated with respect, paid in gold, and by god people will like you.

    Can I get an amen.

Yes, you heard it from me and I speak the truth, the whole truth, and nothing but...

I would suggest checking with your local work force office, the state paid for my CDL training when I decided to change careers after 30 years in nursing. They covered several other expenses as well and I didn't have to spend 1-2 years working off CDL training debt. The first year was difficult and interesting, trucking is not what I was expecting. You do get to see the country but only the highways and only thru the windshield. There is no time for sightseeing. After "paying my 1st year dues" I applied for a job that sounded too good to be true. It's exactly what I was promised. It's extremely rare to find an honest company that does all that they promised before you hired on, but I did, it is a great job, I'm home almost every day and I make a decent salary.
