I currently live in the Seattle area, but have been thinking about moving to Phoenix. I've lived there before, but long before I ever had a CDL. kind of curious what to expect as far as pay scale down south. I work for a local LTL company here, and most of the LTL companies up here average anywhere from 20-26 dollars per hour. Anyone here live in the Phoenix area that can give me some info on what to expect down there? I know the cost of living us less there, but you also have state income tax there and we don't. So is the pay scale compatible with Washington, or will I be in for a shock?

OTOH, while you do have three to four months of terrifically hot weather, there is a very good reasons that the "Snowbirds" from up north flock to Phoenix during the colder seasons. (Flocking Snowbirds...)
I do agree with @Chinatown about decent companies in both Phoenix and Vegas.
Swift and Knight both are headquartered in Phoenix. Lots of LTLs call Phoenix, if not exactly home, then hub..
