Any refer ops here ever haul fresh potatoes? Wondering if they pay worth a ####. I have a cousin and 3 freinds that own fresh packs and am thinking of hitting them up for loads.

Bulk potatoes on the floor that are delivered to the potato chip plants, have traditionally payed pretty decent.

I'm assuming that you are talking about consumer grade, packaged potatoes though. I haven't hauled any of those in years but from what I recall, they paid about what general reefer freight pays.

Pays by weight, but during the springs of 2005,2006(last time I hauled them)they were paying roughly $2.35-2.45 plus fuel surcharge to run from Northeast Florida to the Binghampton, NY area. This was the pay to the truck after a broker took their cut. Due to the recent economic conditions, I am sure that the pay has trended downward since then.
