Power steering trouble

    I have a 2000 classix xl with detroit and im having some trouble with the power steering here and there. The trouble is loss of power only turning left and usually if its out of gear in a turn when im downshifting. The loss of power isnt all the time which is hard to figure out. The fluid level is fine and i have recently replaced the ps filter in the tank.

    I have asked 2 mechanics and had 2 different answers as to either the ps pump or the steering box. If i have to replace, so be it but if its just one or the other I’d like to go that route first.

    Get this fix ASAP, steering and brakes are nothing to be dismissed when a problem arises. Going down the road at 65 MPH and loosing your steering could be fatal. I just replaced my steering gear box on a 05 387 Peterbilt for a minor leak. That could of put me out of service or worst failed when I needed it most. The small leak was caused by a internal o ring going bad. The part at Peterbilt $775 at a local shop $505.
