ok I will ask ! to the OP ,do you originally come from abroad? as this #### about the driver paying for everything that goes wrong is just like what Eastern European companies do and in my experience (friends) what certain wraparound Stetson wearers are trying on in Manitoba !!! just asking mind and yup I am from Europe originally(citizen now).
peterd Thanks this. -
Pinner's response is dead on. If you screw up any of my equipment or freight, I can fire you or I can just take a deep breath and to hope you learned from your mistake.
Very often I tell a driver that has had an issue and I say, "Well at least I know that you won't screw up like that again".Last edited: Nov 19, 2016
steve092, magoo68, TROOPER to TRUCKER and 4 others Thank this. -
Seriously don't try to make him pay for it, if he decide to complain to labor board you're f..ed
It's your truck and your insurance, owning a business comes with risks and rewards. You can fire him if he's a bad driver but then you'll have the trouble of finding a replacement. -
haiden99- Why are you even in business asking us such ridiculous questions? And Why in gods name is your deductible so high?? Jesus h chri,Do you not know how to shop insurance?
NO, You cannot Hold a Drivers earnings for any reason due to an accident or accidental negligence..
You outta know this before you start hiring people that have families to support..
You can Get in a lot of trouble if you tamper with someone's earnings- And It could cost you in a court of Law-Or even cost you your own well-being!
Don't tamper with this. Its the cost of doing business....Hire better drivers.sam05 Thanks this. -
I never ever held pay from drivers. This post was only to ask not holding pay was the right thing to do. Alot of small companies hold pay and do other crap and I am trying not to be them.
The truck is leased on to a carrier. The deductible is high because I dont pay for insurance. -
And...These small companies that hold a drivers pay will be dealt with accordingly-
And as for you saying a high deductible because your leased on?? That's the Biggest nonsense Ive ever heard- Its all Boiler plate BS they serve you- -
It's not my own insurance.
And yea its the same #### these megas offer. Im cutting down on leased on trucks and going independent. -
You can purchase buy down insurance very cheaply from NAL that will bring your deductible down to 1k.
