    Some of you current company-side guys might want to chime in here...

    IIRC, reefer side 2800 - 3200 dispatched miles is quite doable - at least last year it was. I'm leasing these days, running less than that, and making more money. Company hometime policy is one day accrued for every week out, three weeks out minimum, and can use four days at a stretch. Which with the way things work freightwise can be stretched out a bit. Company drivers earn a week (5 days) of paid vacation every 125,000 miles after going A-seat solo qualified. There are some regional opportunites that get you to the house more frequently - and at times under load, but you need to inquire about that from your FM once you're on-board.

    As far as "sitting" is concerned, we seem to do less of it since we went on elogs. Nice to have a breather for laundry and decompressing every once in awhile!

    sounds good 2800-3200 is what im lookn for so long as they are payn decent a mile,reefer would not be bad at all i just dont wanna sit all the time at shippers an recievers ya know,id like to make that process as brisk as possible lol are you a reefer hauler?

    would you mind given me a lil insight into how many stops your averagin a run,sit time an what not as well as where all they reefer all (west coast,southeast,northwest,east coast or all? if you dont mind please,i appreciate your time ironpony

    hey IP, those lightweight drivers.. on company side.. they get paid 10 cents more per mile? so they make like what after A seat qualified and solo.. 44c per mile?

    The usual is one stop per trip... but they do give you "stop pay." $10 per extra stop. Waiting time varies from preplans to a few hours on the average. It depends on where you're at, and how many idle trucks are in the area. We do all 48.

    There are some deals like that - its given as compensation for shorter runs like the northeast regional loads. Not everyone gets that, I understand.

    right on ironpony thanks again sounds like a decent gig im quite interested in prime now but still gonna be logical an look into some other outfits as well to,i have plenty of time to do research

    Why do you keep saying a week vacation and then say 5 days. A week is a week and you get 7 days off. $500.

    You can tack on 4 home time days and get 11 off with a vacation. I asked, and I am taking 12 in Sept.

    You got $10 for stop pay? I've always got and get $20. On average stops, the 1st pickup 01 and final destination 90 excluded. Anything in between whether pickup or delivery is extra stop pay.

    5 cpm for a lightweight truck

    5cpm for a Northeast Regional DRIVER not NE Loads. You must live and operate in and under the NE Regional dispatch umbrella (Pittston) Can't live in say GA, drive NE regional and take home time in GA. However if you are a NE Regional driver you still get the extra 5cpm if you happen to be assigned a stray load out of and back to the NE region.

    A seats don't start at .34 as of late 2009. .33 followed by .34 at first pay raise. All raises after are half a cent at the respective milage markers. Comparative to Pre late 2009 driver scale, current drivers start a penny less initially and are half a cent behind pre late 2009 drivers at first and subsequent pay raises.

    Mostly because your FM (and my ex-FM) flat out TOLD me it was 5 days. Perhaps that's from payroll's perspective, and not necessarily how it's administered?

    It may be different now that I'm on the lease side... didn't feel like rebooting the machine after I updated Adobe last night. But IIRC, the last multi-load stop I ran it was $10. OTOH, I get accessorials you don't now.

    Nerdybiker - I feel unworthy and unnecessary since IP is so thorough with all his responses! However, I LOVE my 2011 Cascadia. I endured the "EGR Cancer" (great term, IP... I may steal it!) in a 2007 Century before, and am overjoyed with this new DD15 engine! I have driven PACCAR trucks before (Kenworths, and one Pete), and much prefer the Freightliners. Yeah, the tranny is 10-speed straight Eaton-Fuller. I really like this truck.
