Score one for a driver. She refused to drive Donner in a blizzard and was fired for it
Now Prime gets to foot the bill for their decision.
Congratulations to the driver for sticking to her guns![]()

They'll just find anouther reason to fire her again...and hit her DAC hard
outerspacehillbilly Thanks this. -
I'd take the $151,600, work one day, and quit.
CondoCruiser and outerspacehillbilly Thank this. -
Read the article or the ruling.Prime was court ordered to remove any negative comments from her DAC, and employment record
I found it refreshing a Judge took the word of the Driver about safety over the desk jockey 1500 miles away
Elvenhome21 and notarps4me Thank this. -
According to the ruling they gotta pay even if she doesn't return
I like the part about posting the judgment in an area where normal employee notices are displayed
Might make some of those driver think before allowing a DM to over rule their common sense

No comments from the Prime Cheer Leaders ??????
Big John and losttrucker Thank this. -
I would ask a favor.Let's leave the company likes and dislikes out of the thread.
It could just as easily have been England, Hunt, Maverick, Swift...........
There are several threads of people for and against Prime.I would respectfully ask that this thread be about a driver standing up for themselves and winning out in the end.
Thank You,zentrucking and misterG Thank this. -
She had a good lawyer,I googled him on the internet.
Tazz Thanks this. -
We all know who you're referring to. And I have some personally choice comments for you if you'd like to take it off line.
Lessee... she was running from the midwest to the northwest via Donner? As a lease op she's entitled to her own routing, but doncha generally take a right at Salt Lake?
The brief I read said in a team environment she was averaging 1600-or-so miles a week. HUH? I'm a solo and through that period ran 2400 - 2800 miles per week. I think there's more to this than what's being touted.
OTOH, her FM screwed up by ordering her to run in bad weather - probably really frustrated by her lack of productivity in any weather. I don't see how she was able to stay out of the hole, let alone make a paycheck on that kind of work ethic.
I've never been "ordered" to run in bad weather. My FM is genuinely concerned for the safety of all of his assigned drivers, and in fact the only pressure I've had to drive was from a night dispatch guy... they're generally jerks anyway.
Personally, I think she'll take the money and run.
