    Well they do notarps. Like almost ALL schools, the applicant pays the permit fee and the initial DOT physical exam fee. If they manage to make it through to solo-qualified driver status and stay for six months, half of the tuition is waived. All of it if they stay for a year.

    So what's the BS laugh icons about?

    Prime absorbs the cost? You make it sound like they are on the losing end. They "loan" money out to begin with. Not pay. Then they take it back. Then they move freight by paying student wages while keeping the poor guy out for 3 months... absorb the cost? That is what this is for,,,,:laughing-guffaw::laughing-guffaw::laughing-guffaw:

    Well to start with you stated that recruiter asked for whether you had job history for the last 36mos. You replied no I've been laid off for the last 16 mos. He asked for 36mos not 16 months. All u would have to show is your employment prior to layoff & your unemployment benefits.

    Notarps you're an intellegent person, so don't come off like you're not. Prime trains CDL drivers to obtain the best possible fit - and no other reason. You and I both know that its not cheap to provide this training - especially with the amount of one-on-one time that they get. The very minimal amount of wheel time a trainee gets in a CDL-mill school costs thousands - and we give them a minumum of 100 hours BEHIND the wheel.

    The "loan" is a couple hundred a week so the trainee (who is not an employee) at this point has some money in his pocket while he's on the road - and it's only going to add-up to a couple of hundred. As far as the length of training - get real. I've seen you writing about how "CDL mills" don't provide enough training, and here you are writing like they've been pressed into involuntary servitude - after the initial 100 hours, they're an employee being paid a wage.
