No, not really. Just lots of those lovely loads where you have to sit and wait on DDT before the shipper actually has them ready. WE didn't have an issue w/ the miles. And I DID just take the total miles divided by the total weeks, so, yes, it DID include his hometime. One week with zero miles will kill an average, LOL. I think total number of weeks with Prime, solo, was around 38. He was about 11 or so out for his 40k (trainers' trucks breaking down for a week each). And then about 4 days between his upgrade/rescue the truck/bring it back to Pittston so they could go thru it. Turkey Day ended up being 6 days instead of 4 (due to being able to not get a load out of here until Monday or Tuesday.) She did make an effort to get a him a load thru the house for Xmas (yep, 34 at the house over Xmas). Obviously, due to the holiday, it was a load w/ extra time on it. But mostly, meat/chicken loads held him up (gotta love Tyson and Cargill, right?). His FM did GREAT when we asked for routing home. But hometime was generally every 6 - 8 weeks. 2200 miles/week was still MUCH more than he was bringing home as a mechanic. I no longer had to pick which utility I called to beg for extra time. I could pay the bills on time, for the most part.
When he came home in June, a family medical issue blew up in our faces, precipitating his departure from Prime. This was NOT Prime's fault. Terminal illness is ugly, and terribly stressful. His dad died in August. My mother has cancer. Mom's health is what necessitated the switch. Because we switched, he was able to come home for the funeral, after just being home 11 days prior for hometime. With the next home time scheduled only 10 days out from the funeral. Yes, he was home for CGs bday, his Dad's funeral, and our anniversary/my birthday. It's ok. That's what the savings account is for, right? (And no, he didn't go negative at all!) We are very happy with where we are. We don't need a babillion miles to make ends meet. We live simply, our monthly bills are not outrageously high. We have one car (OLD, but paid off and most of today's new cars can't beat the mpg). We paid the down for the oldest to buy her car (that she's making the payments on) and paying 1/2 of her insurance and her college tuition. We now have 3 cell phones, about to go to 4. Where before we had zero. The bills are paid EARLY, and money is going into savings. Prime taught him how to drive a truck, and brought us out of a big black hole.
Prime??
