Hey guys,
I have a 1999 International 8100. The problem is the brake lights work, but they will not work unless you really bare down pushing the brake pedal. So when you lightly push on the brake, pretty much like you would normally when coming to a stop, no brake lights. So I dont think this is a switch issue. I think this could be a treadle valve issue. Any thoughts as if I am going the right route on this?

Easy peazy. Find the brake light switch (should be a pressure switch) and see if it closes when you press on the pedal.

Yeah that seems to be my problem. There are 2 pressure switches on the treadle valve, but when I unplug both of them, still get the brake lights. Not sure where this thing could be. Cant find it on outside on the firewall and so far cant find it beneath the dash.

Ok thanks.

I think those are in a super fun spot up behind the dash above the pedals somewhere. I can't remember exactly, but the wiring diagram shows they are inside. Follow the air lines from the foot valve.

Above the go pedal I thank. There are two low air switch / gauge senders with tees as well.
Try unplugging the wires to see what that does first.Them maybe put a jumper wire in the plug if you thank it maybe the brake light switch. I do not remember exactly as well but thank it should have two brake light switches.
If you can get a number off the switch dealer can tell you what it is. -
My Freightliner has both of them plumbed into the parking brake.
