Been a whirlwind. Out with the trainer now and I'm driving. Haven't done much backing. We're cooling our heels at a distribution center and we watched two separate collisions so he decided to do the backing on this one. Gonna go to a gravel patch nearby and practice after we're done here.

Been studying whenever I'm not driving and doing two pre-trips a day to be sure I have it down. Only the second day on the road so I should be good when we get back

Pay attention and watch how people set up when you’re at DC’s or truck stops. You’ll notice before someone starts backing whether or not they know what they’re doing. Then concentrate on being in the right position before you start backing.

I watched someone take 15 mins to back up to a dock today. And the dock next to the driver was empty. Also, the “trainer” was outside the truck giving guidance.

After 15 mins the trainer decided to bump the dock. The student never had a chance because of their set up. The most important part imo before you start backing is where the end of your trailer is in relation to the hole.

Anyways, good luck. Some days I back perfect others I look like a rookie.

    Are you with Wilson Logistics?
Do you leave your car at the terminal?

If you left the car at the yard I hope you did not leave it at the far end. We crush cars on the first three from the end at the Covenant yard in Little Rock, Im pretty sure they are still there.

Took my test today. Fail. Passed my pre trip. Took 0 points on maneuvering with only one short pull up. Got to the road test and.... bumped the ####ing curb with the rear trailer tire coming off the training pad. Instant fail.

Yeah but you only get two chances here. The thing that bugs me the most was I basically failed the #### thing before even getting on the street.

Upside is that's all I have to do on tuesday. They won't test again on pretrip or backing. Just gotta do the road test and I'm good. Shame though. If I had passed on the first attempt I would have gotten a nice bonus.

I got one more shot. If I can just remember to take all that real estate offered I'll be alright.
