I must wonder what the long term psychologically effects may be of the continual exposure to the plethora of nanny systems on these modern trucks.
I don't think we are geared for perpetual monitoring and warning. It is quite invasive to one's peace.
I think it's essentially a form of torment.

Personally I think it makes the driving population less skilled. There's no need to learn or evolve your skills when the vehicle (tries to) do all the thinking for you.
I hoped into a newer Cascadia for a week or 2 last winter. Literally easier to drive than a car. I'm not joking. The skill level involved in getting around the city with a 48' deck was minimal.John Joel Glanton, MACK E-6, Crusader66 and 14 others Thank this. -
ignore it. Forget about the nanny crap. Drive like you normally do & the hell with it. If they want the freight delivered on time and damage free they can deal with it.
i think as a whole we as humans always look to or for the worst case scenario, so we get worked up thinking about how the company can screw us with this tech. Screw that way of thinking. Forget the tech is in the truck ignore the hell out of it. If it triggers an alert let it trigger it. So what, you have a steady work history & a clean cdl, you’ll be in someone else’s truck by Monday! They may be the boss, but they forget they work for you just as much as you work for them.bryan21384, MACK E-6, Rctruck87 and 7 others Thank this. -
I agree. If you scope out, a large group of people are constantly being invaded by everything all at once all the time. I try my best to avoid that, though sometimes it starts to feel too much

Heck, I am monitored. If I don't reply to a text I get about every 2 hours from 6 AM until 10 PM I will get a visit. I am going to be getting a lifealert like device in about a week. This was my compromise with my daughter after she moved out.
