Read an article today that a congressman from Texas is pushing to change the hos to the following.

Still 10hrs off duty before restart of our next 14 hour shift.
Up to a 3 hour break without affecting our 14 hours.
Getting rid of the mandatory 30min break.

    Thoughts?

    Trucker61016 Thanks this.

That is still pushing the problem of shippers and receivers not honoring the appointments down the road. Almost all these loads have been done a few thousand times, if them companies can not figure out how to schedule correctly why should a driver who is forced to follow a ELD to the t be the one to take the punishment for laziness.

    Thoughts?

Get rid of the 8 hour clock and let us choose when to take the 30 minute break before running out the 11 hour clock.

Freeze the 14 hour clock after 10 minutes of the truck not moving. Restart the clocks from where they were when we stopped.

If we complete a 10 hr break, reset all clocks.

No one knows if we're actually sleeping while in sleeper berth so why penalize those of us who actually are because they're trying to penalize those who are actually unloading/loading their trucks?
