My peoplenet bit the dust. My company has recently started putting qualcomm in all new trucks and those of us with peoplenet, if the system couldn't be fixed we get a shiny new qualcomm. I have ran with one before it was the 200 with slide out keyboard. This one is the 50, strictly touchscreen. Here is my question cause nobody in safety knows. It's running a Windows based os, so because of the fact it has no external keyboard and I have pudgy fingers lol, can you get a plug and play keyboard and utilize the usb port on the side? I know the port works cause it charged my Bluetooth and phone. Oddly enough, when I plugged my phone in a dialog box popped up "driver who is using this usb device?" Didn't affect the charging or the unit working. Anyone using a similar elog device in their truck and would my idea work?

YES; I have the MCP50 as well.

I hate the fact it has no slide out keyboard.
Also the Screen is so small and the touch screen keyboard takes up half of the screen or so.
Less than a week after I got my new truck (with the 50) I picked up a Wireless Keyboard at Walmart.

    Got the Logitech K400.
The USB Port Should be able to accept most simple USB Devices.

Great. I knew I had seen Windows type prompts and screens when it booted. Was hoping the whole plug and play carried over.

Yeah most stuff esp. Keyboard/Mouse should work just fine.

Mine is a Full Size Keyboard of course.
I got a Tiny Keyboard for my Pi.
That might be worth a try if you could deal with a very small one.
Although I guess it's almost small enough to get lost :p

Adding a keyboard to a Qualcomm... Interesting option... Never thought about using one as I just use the on screen option. I might have to grab my extra wireless keyboard next time I am at home... But having the keyboard laying around might offset its value.

    I'm Solo.
I keep a Clipboard and my Keyboard on the passenger seat.

If you don't have the Slide out Keyboard like on the '200'.
The Touchscreen keyboard is total junk. And takes up too much of the Screen.

Got my kiddo to do some checking. They sell a keyboard/touchpad combo with one usb dongle. Only need batteries in the keyboard itself and you can use the touchpad to navigate between tabs
