I ran into an issue during my last 34 reset in Michigan that I can't figure out how to solve.
I delivered my final load before my company said "Go find a truck stop and take a 34." Ok great. So I go on PC and head south and do my 34 at a Loves in MI. Not under any dispatch of any kind. My company has been riding our butts about certifying our logs daily so as soon as I got stopped, I certified everything. Fast forward a day.
At the end of my 34 I receive my next load and I just so happened to have gone EXACTLY in the right direction to pick up my load. But I advanced the trailer 40 miles PC toward the shipper before my 34 reset when not under dispatch. I can't go back and edit certified logs so I'm stuck.
What should be done in a case like this? If you wonder why I used PC to get to the truck stop knowing I would be taking a 34 anyway, it was to save on my drive time because I work for a company that is famous for calling you during your 34 and saying "I really need you to go pick up this load. You're the only truck anywhere nearby." So since I COULD legally move PC to a truck stop for a 34 because they told me to while not under any dispatch, I did.
But this time, they did NOT tell me to move and I did the full 34 reset. I don't know what to do. I told my dispatcher (who quit Thursday) and he told me don't worry about it, nobody cares.
Question about going back in time....

Don't worry about it. Your advance towards load doesn't count since you weren't under dispatch, and had no prior knowledge of which direction you would be heading next.

I agree @SoulScream84 . I don't see how anyone could object to anything. Accidentally going in "the wrong direction" proves you aren't advancing the current load or next load but it isn't any sort of requirement to only go in the wrong direction to PC or for a 34.

I wouldn’t worry about it. About the only way your company would get in trouble is if they get audited and you were in an area and had knowledge there’s a good chance you’d be picking up your load from that particular shipper. And even then I think it would be hard to prove you had prior knowledge of your next load before the PC.

Yes I honestly had no idea where I was going for my next load.

Well, I 100% disagree with every response you got. I've done this many times. I will drop a trailer, PC home intending to return to that same location for my next pickup, only to end up picking up at a different location that just so happens to be in the same direction I used PC. I will edit the log from PC to DRIVE and add a comment, "Did Not Return To Previous Drop Location For Next Pickup" The way these people are telling you, you could use PC anytime, anywhere, and say "Well I didn't mean to go this direction and end up advancing myself to my next load, it just kind of worked out in my favor that way"

When you realize, you did advance to your next load using PC you need to change it to DRIVE.
