Hey guys, I'm new to the trucking industry and I was wondering how the pricing for deliveries work. I know the truck companies consider fuel, insurance, maintenance, etc. I also know about additional cost such as an initial fee, loading fee, km's fee, etc. My question is what are all the fees that one would have to pay a truck company and what are reasonable prices for each fee. Any advice is appreciated
Thanks!
Kevin

Fees are calculated by the day, the mile or the hour. Each load is different depending upon where it ships from (deadhead miles) the time needed to load, the time or miles to destination and the time required to unload.
Not sure what you're really looking for other than this. -
thanks for your answer, what I was looking for was what the average price was for things like each mile, an initial fee, a loading fee, etc
-
That's not a question that can be answered generically. Van rates differ from flatbed rates which differ from reefer rates. You're in Toronto>>>are you shipping to NYC, to Miami, to LA or to Duck's Ask, Wyoming.
-
trailer trucks within Ontario. Sorry, I should have been more specific
-
OK>Are you moving van loads from Toronto to Niagara Falls, Flatbed loads from Toronto to Timmins or Reefer loads from Toronto to Ear Falls?
Again, there's no generic pricing -
Fixed costs + variable costs + extraordinary costs + profit = rate to charge.
More or less. -
Roughly 2hrs to load, driving miles ( 50 per hr both ways ) unloading 2 hrs multiply all by $80 p/hr
-
Not even thinking of turning a wheel at that rate...
You're a wee bit low... try again. -
What's the weight?
Tandem axle load...tridem? Quad?
Does it require special services such as tail-gate delivery, inside delivery, shuttle service into locations such as shopping malls with height/length restrictions where trailers can't access the loading dock
Every detail makes the price change...
