The state also can help out if you have any questions. They oversee these workers comp company's within their state.
Some states laws are different than others.
Their is also a time limit as to how long that you are paid a check.
Their is also retraining if you can not return to your job.
You at some point ( May have to request ) an impairment rating to put a dollar amount as to what your injury is worth.
As long as they are taking care of you I would NEVER let them know if you have an attorney in mind.
When they find out you have hired counsel everything from then on will go thru the attorney.
You also have the right to go to your own Dr.

Get a lawyer, ASAP!!!

Have the lawyer represent you in all communications to the company and insurance company.

With your injury, you should have been transported home, not continued to work.

It's going to really depend on your state's workers comp laws and regulations. In my state once you reach MMI Max Med Improvement they normally settle with you and want you to sign off on any future medical benefits which I strongly discourage. Please talk to a reputable attorney and DO NOT post anything on social media of any kind including this site. Watch everything you do and say including on the telephone. DO not talk to anyone about this as even someone that has no intentions of causing you harm can and most likely will have to testify at depositions.

 

Be careful of the Lawyer too. They often want a quick settlement just to get their percentage. They’ll sell you out cheap.

 

If you aren't able to go back to work, you may qualify for Social Security Disability. You will need a doctor to complete a TPD form (Total and Permanent Disability), then take it to Social Security, and........wait. And wait. And, then when they give it to you, they will periodically challenge whether you are STILL disabled. Hope for the best; I don't think you really want to go on SSD.
