They always ask if the trailer is sealed and they always ask what you are carrying. I do not leave a yard or business without the trailer being sealed as per company policy. The border is the last place to take any chances

Yep and I went though 2 of them shortly after I started before realizing that cheap ones and a hammer worked great. Its always funny watching guards trying to cut them with bolt cutters.

A hammer, really? I guess there's different types of cable cutters and various sizes, but for the typical truck seal cable, ones like those pictured went through it like shop scissors on a little zip tie for me, not that I use them a lot, is this what you're pounding on?

Nobody ever seems to buy big enough bolt cutters for a bolt seal either, there are guidelines, it's like 30" minimum with high carbon steel, and most I see in shipping are about half that with low carbon probably.

I'm not using the hammer to break the seal. I'm using it because I'm not strong each to cut them with my cheap wire cutters. I wasn't able to find cutters like the ones you show when I was looking for them and once I found the solution I use now I stopped looking. Not for one second saying my solution is good.

At one site I was at they cut it will a 48in set of wire cutters. Cut it just like butter.

Whatever works for you (have fun with that), I was simply recommending cable cutters for cutting cables, of all things.

But of course, and do you have any grey poupon? Somehow I'm a snob for having cable cutters. ;)
