Alright so due to unfortunate events back when I was in 10th grade I had to drop out of high school. I'm at the point now in life where working lower paying jobs just aren't cutting it. I applied for a job with a trucking company and marked myself as having a ged. My intentions were to then get my ged as fast as possible. The company called me in the next day and basically hired me on the spot pending their background checks (all of which cleared just fine) and they have me starting in a couple weeks. Now I still fully intend to get my ged but I won't have it before my start date. They are going to be sending me to school for trucking. My question is, do schools run their own check? Or since I'm being sent by a company would they just accept me regardless or how does that work? Thanks.
Question regarding ged/hs diploma

Ive never had a trucking company ask for my HS Diploma.
-
What about the school they sent ya to?

Someone posted a few months ago that Swift actually wants to see a copy of the high school or GED diploma. I don't know if that's true or not. Most companies couldn't care less about seeing it.
Don't mention it to the school or trucking company. -
I'm old school. I wouldn't take a job on falsehood. Wouldn't matter if they checked or not. Man up. The ends doesn't justify the means.
That being said, the way you construct your paragraph, with punctuation, I'd seriously doubt that anyone would ever know that you didn't graduate school. If i were an employer, it wouldn't stop me from hiring you.Brettj3876 and AModelCat Thank this. -
I went to Roadmaster. They didnt ask me either.

Schools care about your money; not so much your HS education (or much of anything else for that matter).
Just go get it. Assuming an average student with a 9th grade education, you'll zip through them easily. -
Never lie on any job application. It isn't the small thing that you lied about that companies don't like, they don't like liars. Sorry, someone has to say it.
ajohnson Thanks this. -
They hired a guy at my work, 3 weeks later they said hr was having a hard time comfirming his diplopa. The told him he had to produce a physical copy by the end of the week, he never showed up again.

Don't get me wrong I will be getting my ged. Them not finding out doesn't change that. In fact I have language and math scheduled for the 28th. It's just a matter of getting by till it's done. I know lying on a app is not the best thing to do but financially I'm stuck between a rock and a hard place.

Good luck, hopefully they dont get you. But if they ask later even if you have one with a date after your application was filled out, you are caught in a lie, and most likely screwed. The lie is a much bigger problem than not having the ged
