I’m a new o/o and I’ve been waiting on my Ifta stickers in the mail for a month that’s all I’m missing. Can I run without until it comes in the mail or do I have to wait until it comes ?

I think you have to buy trip permits if you don’t have IFTA. Texas was running a few months when I needed mine. After 2 weeks I called and asked if there was any way to speed it up. They said if I purchased a Fed-Ex overnight label and emailed it to them they would process it that afternoon and I’d have it the next day.

It's good until February.
They give you a little time to receive them. I haven't gotten mine yet either and mine were ordered in the middle of december.Siinman and Another Canadian driver Thank this. -
Are you waiting for your renewal. The problem is he doesn’t have an IFTA account yet.Siinman and Another Canadian driver Thank this.

You could run without the sticker if you wanted just might get a ticket. Or do you not even have the permit to carry with you either? Last time I got a ticket for not having an IFTA decal displayed it was $300, in Kansas or Oklahoma can't remember which. But it was the only state that even said anything during that time to me.

Mine are renewal but as far as I understand if you've ordered the stickers and paid your fees and your registered you have until february. If he were pulled over and showed that he paid for them and he's waiting for the stickers I think he's okay.
Also if you really need them you can go to your local office you'll have to pay the $12 or whatever it is for your stickers again but they'll instantly give them to you.
But for the absolute definitive answer to that @brian991219 will be able to give that.Siinman, Another Canadian driver and Stringb8n Thank this. -
Thanks Dino Soar, happy to answer. In your case, as a renewal, you are correct, the old decals are valid until Feb. 28th while you wait for the new decals to come in the mail -if you filed your renewal request before Dec. 31st.
In the OP's case, as a new owner operator, it is safe to assume they do not already have a valid IFTA account, so without having a account set up they are not eligible for the grace period to get the new decals. Now, if they do have 2022 decals and renewed by Dec. 31st then they would have the same grace period. So, no they really shouldn't run without the decals unless they do have a copy of the IFTA license (cab credential) or could get a temporary permit (very expensive) or stays within their home state only.
Another thing to note, if I recall correctly Dino Soar, you are in Pennsylvania which makes it easy to go to the local tax office and get your IFTA stuff over the counter. Not every state has walk-in service like that, so that option may not be available to the OP.NYStarcar, Siinman, Another Canadian driver and 1 other person Thank this. -
I made the assumption that he's already registered and waiting for the stickers but I may have misunderstood that.
You are correct that's one of the few things that Pennsylvania makes easy, LOL.
I'm glad you're around there Brian because these questions come up and it's really helpful to have someone that has the knowledge to completely answer something like this once and for all.Siinman, Another Canadian driver and brian991219 Thank this. -
What state did you apply?Dino soar, Siinman and Another Canadian driver Thank this.
