For those of you that are running stepdecks with 17.5 wheels, and want to change, there are 22.5 8 lug wheels available in alum and steel, we just put 8 new wheels on our step and only gained 4 inches in height, $200 a tire verses $500 a tire will make a huge difference. also found they make a 24.5 in 8 lug also. and they look great on the trailer.

Thanks. I would never change my 17.5 for bigger tires. Ive had good luck with the trailer and tires.

4 inches more in hgt. can cause some issues for the we can haul it on the step instead of the lowboy

If you are looking for more, I have 2 aluminum's that Ive had for 6 years in my garage that were brand new take offs.

So now the trailer runs down hill? How is that going to work as far as the axles weight distribution, I would think that the front axle will always be carrying more weight than the rear.

    281ric Thanks this.

Also, did you extend the axle stops to keep the tires from rubbing the deck?

theres a local guy that though he was going to kill it with a low pro, bought one and is blowing out tires every trip he makes so he wanted to put bigger tires on it and the stuff you mentioned is what came to my mind but I figured hes gonna do what he wants anyway , but yeah valid points
