I have a 2020 freightliner, and occasionally I will lose all control of my radio, not just using the in dash/steering wheel controls, but also on the radio. It also loses time on the clock and reverts to a 12 hour clock (I prefer a 24 hour clock, it makes things easier for me). I can't adjust volume or turn it off when this happens(I like to turn the volume down when I get a phone call or if I have to talk to someone at a gate). To say it's annoying is an understatement.

I can restore control by resetting the master power(again, ANNOYING).

Short of replacing the radio, what should we look for?

If I were to decide to actually replace it and chuck the OEM unit out the window at speed(lol), I don't want to lose the in dash/steering wheel controls. I would like recommendations on which units I should look for. I don't need an XM receiver (I have one of those), or a CD player(I don't use those anymore), but a front USB jack(for an iPod if I can ever find what my dad lost), and a front aux port are must haves.

If I do go the replacement route, I may decide to upgrade the speakers and a speaker diagram with speaker requirements would be helpful as well.

    Thanks in advance.
