Correct,I built a new glider in 1985,you got a certificate of origin back then. State of Md. did not want to title it,unless I took it to the MVA for a special inspection. Took my paperwork to a Pa. tag and title office,titled it,no problem. Just depends on the state. But there is a code in the vin# that indicates a glider.
