Hello everyone. Looking for expert advice on 2013 Freightliner Cascadias. Next year I will move on to the Schneider lease choice program. Since my 3rd yr will be 1st as a non-company driver (l/p), I want my first truck to be a new one. Don't want my first experience to be a bad one, with frequent visits to the shop. I spoke with Schneider finance. I asked for a new KW 700 or 680 with a Cummins ISX engine but it's not a guarantee. What is a guarantee is a new 2013 Frieghtliner Cascadia, since they have several in stock, due to wholesale purchases. Might have to settle for one. Now for all you owner/ops out there with a Frieghtliner Cascadia, please tell me that they are fuel efficient trucks, that rarely have any mechanical issues.
Reliable & efficient?

well first reality check. its a truck it breaks. new or used. now as for the truck you are looking at. i hate them. the front axle tends to sway the truck alot with it being air ride. the truck makes alot of in side noice as it plastic from side to side front to back, worse than the centries. they dont ride well fact i just cracked my oil pan from hard joilts from the road in texas. this was a temp truck for me from the company till my classic was fixed. put a new motor in itt finally after a million miles. ps look around before you sign a lease purchace thru a company you can normal get the same truckup to 15,000 cheaper at a lot on a lease program. companies like to avoid talking about that ballon payment at the end of the lease to keep the truck and if you dont have it they repo!!!!

I have seen several folks get darn good mpg's out of Cascadia with DD15's. One guy I know has a lifetime of over 8 mpg average at around 200,000 on the truck.
From what I gather, you are going to do the lease purchase game with Schneider. But if you can swing it, to keep the cost down both in purchase and operation, buying a glider truck with a rebuilt pre-egr engine is a better choice. I saved over $40,000 off the cost of a new emission truck with my 2013 Freightliner Columbia with a pre-egr 500 hp Detroit 60 in it. MPG average since I have had it is in mid to high 7's. Full warranties just like any other new truck. No fleet spec's in this ride. -
To the OP:
might we know what and how the total cost will be for your Freightliner?
It might help to give a judgement which is correct about the deal you want information about.
