Coming up on my 1st time to renew my Florida CDL. I currently have A with X endorsement. Is it just the eye test or what? Thx.

That's all I've ever had to do. Don't know if it's different with hazmat though.

Wouldn't you have to go thru the hazmat finger-printing and testing again?

If so, you may be too close to get the finger-printing done in time for the CDL haz mat test.

You really should have contacted your state DMV for details on that.

Yeah if you want to keep your HM gotta take haz test again...and piece of advice--most FL DMV are a disaster--even w/an appt....I always hit one of the small out of the way spots--typically in the panhandle on the way thru to get mine.....and since i dropped my HM back in 05 and w/Fl safe driver nonsence--I know have a 10 year DL--so don't have ot bother again until 25---this DL will prolly outlive me--lol

Not FL and not a re-new but a transfer from CT to NC last month and I have all endorsements but passenger.
I did not have to re-take any CDL tests be it computer or driving or get finger prints for HAZMAT or TWIC.

I did have to take the eye test to see if I could meet the 20/40 sight requirement, road sign shapes & color test.
Because I have motor cycle endorsement I did have to take that computer test if I wanted to keep it.

Other wise it was pretty easy and yes I called months ago to see what was needed to transfer my CDL down here. They even took my CT medical waiver so I did not have to get a new one from NC.
Best to call your DMV to see how they do it.
