Curiosity, why is it so difficult for drivers to not respect the reserved parking spots? Been running back and forth to SLC a lot lately, our customer reimburses us if we have to pay for parking, as a result, I usually park at the J on 900, we reserve a spot. 12 of the last 14 times we've done this, upon arrival, all the reserved spots are taken, and at least 6 of them are trucks that didn't pay, then we have to track down security, and watch as he deals with the getting drivers to move.
Yes, I admit, SLC is grossly short of truck stops and truck parking, and it doesn't help that there's always at least 10 dropped trailers at the J, and another 5 or 6 who leave their trucks and go home at night, but seriously drivers.

Unless TSs start to assign a parking spot number to a reservation party, there will be no end to freebee "lovers".

I’ve been out here, OTR for four years and I’ve only paid for reserve spot one time. I refuse. I get in certain situation it’s a must. But wish drivers would trip plan around it so truck stops would get rid of paid parking.
Trucker Paul Thanks this. -
PS: and by the way, THAT IS a trip planning, to reserve a spot ahead, if one is still available where I plan to stop without guess work and nerve stretching.Last edited: Mar 19, 2022
