So you're saying that if you start your 30 in the fuel island and then go park it doesn't pick that up?Or if you leave a minute too soon? I'm just going off what I've heard I don't have an elog and dont plan on ever getting one.

It's a tad off topic, but I will respond. Everything depends on the parameters the company sets up on the e-log. For example, a company can set parameters that it will kick into drive line if you move more than two miles and/or go more than 15 mph. That's so you don't kick into drive line while moving in a large customer yard or in a truck stop. It may be that some companies have set those parameters ridiculously low.

Leaving a minute too soon sure. As for moving off duty I’m not sure. I have always done my post trip while fueling at the end of the day. Pull up go off duty get a fuel ticket and go park. No issues as of yet.

Cordless drill with allen key lets you guide the strap with your free hand for a neat job, I have a kenedyne hand crank for winding the winch but it doesnt do a neat job.
Tug Toy Thanks this. -
What size straps?

Here's the strap winder I use. I don't know where to get it, as my brother gifted me this winder. Note that it isn't a "knuckle buster", forcing you to bang your knuckles on the rub rail. It came with a wingnut that would let you lock it into place anywhere on the rub rail, but that was useless. It fits nicely in any pocket stake on my Utility trailer without having to lock it in place. So basically every two feet on my trailer I can move it quickly and get to the next strap.
Typically it takes me about 5-10 seconds to wind a strap, while checking the strap for any damage. I took another strap out of commission two days ago, so I'm down to 19 working 4" straps and I need to replenish.
It's a bad day for me not to have all my straps wound and in the side box before the load is off my deck. I really don't see any reason why I would need a rewinder that is based on a drill. It's not necessary with this rewinder. Sure, if I'm winding over 10 straps I may get a sore shoulder and arm, but exercise is a good thing.
Keep it simple.
(By the way...it's a major PIA to have to reduce file size in Adobe Illustrator or Photoshop to post a picture anymore on this forum)Attached Files:
