Me and this guy had a disagreement on damage to a trailer (pre-existing damage) when the damage got worse his ultimatum was you taking accountability for it or we part ways I chose to part ways so we kept over $3,000 of my money and left me stranded in Salt Lake City Utah and the resources for truckers when it comes to matters like this are slim to none

If you were an employee they are not allowed to just dock your pay. If he wants money from you he needs to sue you. That money is yours. Make sure he doesn't get to keep it. I believe this is the NLRB's wheelhouse. That is, if they haven't been disbanded by the current administration.

Make sure my check did hit my account before we talked kept my money refused me a bus ticket and told me to get off the property or he would involve law enforcementLast edited: May 10, 2025

Of course it was this 1099 that's becoming popular with all these companies is it sure far away for them to get you one way or the other it's like you're pretty much business owner without having a business or any powers to really run that business the way you believe it should be run

If you drive their truck under 1099, that's tax fraud. So report them to the IRS and the NLRB. It's very obvious if it was 1099 it's fraudulent because you can't leave somebody stranded if they own the ####### truck.

Thanks for that I'll look into it the kind of feedback I was looking for cuz I'm still in Utah at the moment I'm trying to work out how to get back home

Report them to the IRS for misclassifying your employment. Then small claims court for your money.
Flat Earth Trucker and ducnut Thank this.
