I see that Roehl gas a driving school that lasts three weeks. Also, it is cheaper then other schools I was looking at.
Does anyone know If the Roehl school is the same as the others? I mean, if I go to their school for my CDL, does that mean I can work with any company that accept newly graduated drivers, or do I have to work only with Roehl?
Thanks all..
Dennis

Your CDL will be the same no matter what school you goto. When you make application to RDTC, you make application to Roehl at the same time. It is a good program, and Roehl is a good starter company. The RDTC program is great, I have been a trainer for Roehl for 2+ years now, and I would rather train a student out of our school, rather that from an outside school. They already know what the expectations are, and how Roehl operates. It fits with the rest of the Roehl training program. Good luck whatever you decide.

Thank you for the information..
If you do not mind me asking you a few questions..
After the student gets his CDL through Roehl, how many days is he out with the trainer before he gets issued his own truck? Also, what is the starting pay after he is on his own?
Thanks in advance..

It depends on the student how long they are with a trianer. Under the curret system it is 20-28 days depending on how well the student does. Under the new system, that they have in place in GA testing it, you would be in the yard for 8 days of classroom, yard practice, and local driving, then out with a trainer for upto 14 more days. You will have to verify the starting pay with recruiting, but I think it is around .30 cpm.

Last I heard rdtc is an accredited school. So if you paid cash up front for school I guess they would let ya train and go elsewhere. They paid for my school bc of the military then on the last day offered me a job. My 2 year will be up august 6th and I'm still happy here.

Thanks again,,
Right now I am looking hard at Roehl and also Schneider.. Both have tuition reimbursement and I have to call Roehl to see if they have an apprentice program so military vets can get their GI Bill payments as well. I know Schneider does.. I am on the web site now.. -
Yes, Roehl has an Apprentice Program. If you have to choose between the two companies, Roehl is better than Schneider. I've know quite a few people at Schneider and they all tell me the same thing. As a driver, you're just another number to them. They feel that the company has gotten too big.

roehls school is free to vets if you go within a year of ETS...I think its 1 year
-
I will call Roehl now to ask about that.. :O)

I just spoke with a very helpful lady and she said Roehl does not
work with the Apprentice program anymore..
Other then that, it still sounds good..
