I looked at it when I worked there, not a good deal in my opinion, don't see how people make it work. I left and went l/p somewhere else and now own my truck.

You can make it work just fine. You have to keep your costs very, very low. You will struggle if you want all 1k runs and you zoom around at 70 mph everywhere. You won't get rich on this program. The big boy money is at other places, but for a first timer you can do much worse. They help you succeed here.

Maybe it's changed since I was there, but it was only paying about a buck a mile when I left for greener pastures. I agree with keeping costs low, but I preferred making decent money while doing it. Nothing personal, I just feel that Roehl's lease purchase is typical and just another reason l/p has a bad reputation. I think a person can do much better but if it works for you that's great.

Not sure when you left, but they gave us a nice bump last year. Higher compensation for shorter runs now. I average around 1.25 - 1.30 all miles running Midwest. Like I said, nothing to make me rich and I'll be moving on at some point, but a solid program to feel out running your own business.

never ever lease , most companies will rip you off somehow ..my advice
is be a company driver for 3 then get your own truck

    truck
    broker
    ins

you are your own boss you get a % not miles
better money but you have to work for it

and if you want to be a own op thu landstar thats
great also , ive heard great things bout them

    BlueThunderr and XZRF4 Thank this.

I know this post is old but where did you lease and pay off your truck in 30 months?

Sammons out of Missoula Montana, it's DSV now, bought by them last year. It's still the same deal as far as I know, and I'm still here
