I am beginning to see many failures amoung drivers that buy those new $145K trucks and have over $1000 a week deducted. Just look at the avalible equipment and there is beginning to be many trucks with less than 150k miles on them. Those are mostly lease failure trucks. As new trucks keep getting more expensive all Schneider is doing is upping the weekly payments. Anyone looking at a NEW truck thru Schneider should be patient. A good low mileage truck will become avalaible at less than 100k.

I dont see how people can make it on a lease. Those 400-500 truck payments will kill you. SNI rates are not that good doing a lease.

A good driver could manage with payment like you mention. Even if you outside purchased a used truck it would probably be between $1000-$1600 a month just for the truck if you don't pay cash. I bought my first truck thru Arrow truck sales put 10% down and my payment was $1200 a month. I did very well with that. That truck got near a million miles and was beginning to become unreliable and I start talking with Schneider Finance. What they wanted for a new truck was idiotic. I watched the equipment list almost daily and when a used truck that I was interested in popped up I would call. 4 months later and several truck inquiries later the perfect truck became avalaible. They gave me a fair trade in on my old International. I questioned all thier silly add ons such as catastrophic failure and they admitted they were not required. I also questioned thier maintenance escrow and they also said that was not required. I can set aside my own money weekly and make a better interest rate on it and also avoid all thier silly SEMA rules which actually keeps you from your own money. Also what the charge for truck insurance is about 25% higher than you can find outside Schneider.

I understand , but you can take your truck elsewhere. In a lease purchase you cant take your truck, if you leave company. With SNI rates you would have to drive 3k miles a week , on a consistent basis. I just dont see it , with the freight rates.
