Overreaction. I've been hit in the same spot by a 4-wheeler and barely felt it.

I've not been hit yet, so I wasn't sure whether that was caused by the impact or by driver input.

My feeling is that I'm big enough not to have to worry about steering out of my lane to avoid a collision that was caused by another vehicle moving over. In school, we were taught that if we purposely deviated from our lane in that type of situation, we would be at fault for anything that we hit.

Just another reason why I want a camera in my truck :biggrin_25514:

I will not swerve my truck for someone else or any animal. I may quickly change lanes, but never swerve. We had 2 local drivers that died avoiding 4 wheelers that cut them off in traffic.

Better to be a Wal-Mart greeter then to be dead.

I won't even quickly change lanes, as there's no time to really look to be sure you're not putting some hapless driver underneath your trailer.

I'm normally very aware where other vehicle are located...except for the occasional motorcyclist that likes to ride in my blindspot.

I see truck drivers that love to tailgate, but when they need to change lanes, they have no idea if traffic had slowed or stopped in the other lanes because they can't see past the 53' van in front of them. I was just as guilty, but now I keep myself a safe distance behind. I do get cut off my trucks entering my braking zone now. Oh, well

Windsmith and blinddriver that is the best change in driving habits we as drivers can make. OP keep searching bud dont give up when one door closes another opens. Whats the police report say? Ur fault? Lets all be on our toes watching out for erratic four wheelers and if one is coming at me well I guess its gonna hurt. I remember a accident a driver told me out in Arizona...on the 10 owner op is coming west his coming home there is a four wheeler speeding east leaves the blacktop careens across the median and on the storm dip in the middle hits it goes airborne and takes the entire roof off the drivers Volvo. Driver was cut inhalf there was no reaction time no nothing. This story really got to me man im always looking at the other side....

Looks to me like the car nailed the front of the right steer tire and spun the wheel out of the driver's hands...

I don't know why you can't get hired anywhere. Everybody I run with except me and 1 other guy have laid at least one down... Look to owner operators that actually have a clue about what goes on out here and stay away from companies.
