You said CHP so I assume you're in California.
    Maybe Gardner?

Tbh go with a smaller company. Less than 100 trucks. Be honest to a point. Hopefully the accident report doesn’t say you fell a sleep. I would you failed to mention that part to the cop!

An accident is an accident, you’ll find a job and probably a good one. It’s not the end of the world or your career. Find yourself a decent company by the house, who hauls the type of frieght you wanna haul & drop an app. Hold your head high man, you went 34yrs accident free.

The company wants you to retire; that's not a good sign. I'd take them up on the offer, then walk away and find another job. Probably find a decent job on Craigslist.

Your age might be a determining factor. 34 years experience, are you 55 or 75? And what type of job are you retiring from? One with a decent retirement plan or one that gives you a company hat and T-shirt as they show you the door.
A major probably wouldn't take you from the insurance aspect, but a smaller one might be willing to take you. Just really depends on what is on the police report.

Some of us started at a very young age, it was easy to get a permit to drive but with all jobs you will have to eventually stand aside and let the younger ones at it. I do not think 75 is old for some, they are more sharp and in better shape than some half that age but we do have to let the young in and stand down. There was a lot you wanted to do when you were young, did you do it yet? If not enjoy it before it is to late.

Retirement is voluntary. If you were not cited, did not receive points, and the company did not report you.. .and CHP did not issue a citation... no.

This is not the death of your career. They wanted to get rid of your old ### for a long time now and found the perfect pretext to commit age discrimination. Again, retirement is voluntary. Do you really want to cruise around the 48 States in an RV taking temporary jobs? Make them fire you, and then nail them to the cross good and hard. There is no objective proof that you are an unsafe driver or medically unfit.

    I'm serious
