Hello I an a rookie driver with 4 months recent otr. I an currently working with someone to get hired. All I'm waiting for is my MVR from Missouri to get approved. Hopefully I will be able to start orientation mon out wed of this coming week. I have read a lot of the forums on here and just had a couple of questions. 1 how exactly does the sliding pay scale work? 2 do you have to boy the power inverters from say a truck stop or can you buy one from the company and make payments? And 3 what's the average miles per week for a solo driver?
Thanks in advance and I hope to see you ask out there on the road.

Ok so I just re read my post and there is a couple typos...its supposed to be buy not boy and you not ask

The sliding scale works like this.....you get paid more for driving less miles.
You buy the inverter and the shop has to install it for you, same as with a CB.
As to miles, I'll let someone else answer that. I don't run for USX anymore, but my miles as a solo used to run about 1500 miles a week.horton0848 Thanks this. -
Awww Music!!
Seeing you post makes me sad for some reason! Remember reading your posts about USX... got alot information from you!

Back on topic, from what Musicgal said, you do get paid less the more miles you run. However, you also get paid more for lower mile runs.
I'm teams, and we don't have a sliding pay scale so I have no idea what the rates are. Check with your recruiter or hopefully will have some more knowledge than me.
Inverter is correct, buy it, and the shop will install it. ----
Between you and I though... if you're looking for solo work... there are alot better companies out there for it. USX is trying to push for teams, and I'll assume (not sure it's wise but what the hell) the number of solo drivers to one dispatcher is probably 100:1, but that's assuming. Could be higher or lower, but i would think that's about avg.
If you have 4 months recent experience, some companies may higher you as 1st driver... it's worth checking, unless you want to go teams.
Just my 2 cents.
