Rough idle

    I have a Kenworth t600 series 60 12.7 Ddec iv it idles with and abnormal pulse but revs out smooth.

    Also have a Freightliner fld112 with Cummins m11 celect plus idles with a miss revs with a miss but it you hold rpm above 1500 for a few seconds it stops missing revs clean until it drop back to idle and the miss comes right back.

    I’d be interested to hear what anyone has to say regarding this, my 12.7 does the exact same thing. Rev the engine to 1200 or so and it goes away. Doesn’t normally do it when it’s cold though (below 60 or so)

    It’s been a while, but we had a couple 12.7’s that did that, I don’t remember for sure, I think it may have been the fuel pressure regulator/check valve in the back of the head. It may have been the fuel temp sensor or a fuel line restriction. But that was 10 years ago. But they should be easy enough to check.

    Turned out to be the truck needed an over head done and Truck run and idles better than ever before

    Thanks I’m sure that’s all that’s wrong with mine only does it on occasion sometimes can make it go away while idling by revving it and resetting fast idle
