I go through there about 2 or 3 times a month. Mostly on Sunday am while most of the town is hung over or in church.

Go straight thru on I-80...take the new 355 toll (or whatever 300 # it is ?) north to 88 toll.....go west to I-39 then north on I-39 to hwy 10 in Wisconsin....go west....stop at the school.

If you want to go through Chicago to ....see the lakeshore....buy a Chicago dog...sit in traffic...get mugged...then just take I-94 to I-90toll to I-39.

Actually, I have taken I-80 to I-355 to I-290 to I-90 to I-39. You only have the one bottle neck at I-290. When I-90 meets I-39 you are in the left lane and the merging traffic is not a problem. It is only 18 miles longer to go this way than fighting all of the traffic on I-294 and the construction.

I'll buy that. I usually go all the way to 39 to avoid the toll. I figure a car is a lot easier. I'd like to see a through-traffic only toll road . I don't understand why they want people who are just passing through to clog up their roads?

You can miss almost all of the tolls by going 80 to 39. It is 50 miles longer. With fuel prices the way they are, one has to look at the miles and the traffic and decide. My company pays all of the tolls, so why not.

Any guess what the total amount for tolls the way you go would be? 8 gallons x $5=$40.....and it's probably faster to take the toll roads. Plus they can write off some of those tolls.

Let's see. I buy the fuel. I pay 40.00 out of my pocket to avoid paying tolls that the company repays me.

Gee, I think it would make more sense to not pay the extra fuel cost and still have them pay the tolls. Less money out of my pocket.

The companies usually charge the tolls back to the freight shipper. As long as they pay the tolls, I see no reason to eat more in fuel cost.

My company pays for it all. How much are the tolls?

81 down to TN 25 to 75 to 64 to Louisville Ky 65 to Indy and then 74 west to 39 north to Wi. This will be about 943 miles and no Chicago.

30.00 should about cover it. I only keep the record of it until it is paid back. Then I toss it. Have not run it in a couple of weeks.
