Well there is no dought its gonna be fast.
What gears in your pete that you want a od like that. -
3.70 on lp 22.5. Gonna swap to 3.36 when ever I find a set of gears.
-
I ran an RTOO for a bunch of years. It was a howling S O B in the big hole. The older trans are weak in the back box. If you pull heavy keep it outta of overdrive, when the pitch of the howl changes split it or it won't last long. They have a race car reverse that I never liked. So taller rears are creating more trouble . Not to mention the big hole really gets gearey feeling takes some fuel to turn it but if you have enough motor it will strut. I'm not trying to talk you out of just sharing my real world knowledge of running one for 15 years.
FWIW I ran 3:70's on tall 24.5's. Mine was a factory oo not a homemade.Diesel Dave, Roger McG and snowman_w900 Thank this. -
Don't swap to 3.36. I hate that gear. You won't like it with that trans. Won't pull a greasy string.
Diesel Dave Thanks this. -
I ran one with 3.90 rears. Ran in 12th mostly. 13th was too fast. Didn't need it till you got close to 70 mph
-
3.36 with low pro 22.5 would be fine with a rtlo 13.
I wouldn't bother with a rtoo .Diesel Dave, snowman_w900 and wore out Thank this. -
Well with my 3.70 and lp 22.5 12th will be my most used gear besides when I'm running down the interstate. Also I don't haul super heavy. Max gross of 50k and that's a stretch. One day I'll respec the truck with tall 24.5's as that's what it came with from factory.
-
Tall 24's would be close to 3.55's with the lp's
prerunner404 Thanks this.
