Very good and practical information; boots on the ground stuff - not textbook yada, yada.

I had one of those new small booster packs that are like 8 x 4 x 2 with leads and clamps.
My kid Paid like $120.00 for the thing, cause I don't want crap. There are cheaper ones, but not as good.
It would start my Cat 3126 when idiot kid left the lights on one time overnight.
    I was impressed.
The Same fine son of mine left it in the truck - totally depleted, on a winter nite of minus 20 below,
instead of using it, running it down, and bringing it in the house, or at least the warm garage, to charge it.
They need a minimum charge in them not to freeze the gel-cell batteries. He says, "I didn't know that."
That's why those instruction sheets you throw away are in new stuff you never had?? No ship, Sherlock.
Bye bye battery gel-packs; froze and ruined it - no chargee, no workee.

    ok. now different story.
Some drivers are using instead of DEF distillated water on DD15. According to talks if you have bad 1-box ATD there is no need to spend $7-8K to replace it. Add distillated water in DEF tank, remove SCR outlet NOX sensor and leave it hanging somewhere nearby so it can sniff fresh air. Plug the hole with metric bolt and you are ready to go without any flashing fault codes and derate. You will need to add a little water sometimes. Rumor ?
