I am leasing and driving a semi under another company's authority. I pay for the insurance out of my settlement. I was thinking about activating my own authority so when i branch out on my own, the authority wont be new. Is this possible? If so, can i use the same insurance policy that i am currently paying for my new authority? Please help.

I don't know the answer to your question, but having new numbers isn't that big of a deal. I can count on one hand the brokers that wouldn't work with me due to being new. Don't sweat it.

Short answer, no. Would have to purchase another policy in whatever name your authority would be.
