Definitely we are planning a trip out sometime in May/June to check out anything from Winnemucca to Wells. I use to work for a sister company of Golden Gate was thinking about asking my old boss if they have fuel haul work out in NV as well.
Any Info on Savage Services in Elko, NV

Gemini (Loves) usually hires fuel drivers in Winnemucca and Carlin here and there. I would keep a lookout for those job postings as well.RockinChair and dltdamien Thank this.

I havent worked for them, but have kept an eye on them as they seem to pop up wherever I'm thinking to move to. Alot of their terminals are indepentant of each other, it's like working for a separate company, so Pay is all over the play, but I believe its easy to transfer to another Savage location after a year of employment, but I could be wrong, Its been a while since I talked with them and that was the North Salt Lake Location in Utah. They arent the worst and they arent the best. But guys that work there tend to stay there. You'll be at the Transload facility in Osino, which is 10 miles east of Elko. I cant remember if Savage was always at the facilty of if they bought someone out.The hard part is you dont know if they are here to stay at certain locations. Companies come and go all the time and will remain to be seen how long they will stay there. There are a few companies over in Carlin, Thomas Petroleum(They do double side dumps), and a few other carriers with Pneumatics, Side dumps, and belly dumps. Google maps I80 at exit 280 and then scroll up, theres a few companies north of the freeway. With the mines, safety is VERY STRICT! The weather out there is challenging as well, especially during the winter. There isnt anything really to do there. The cost of living is very expensive out there and housing can be challenging. As of now there are only 32 houses and manufactured homes for sale, under $425k according to zillow. There are several RV parks as well.
dltdamien Thanks this. -
I was seeing some manufactures in Elko with a bit of acreage for the 250k range which is well within my budget. I will just have to see when we are actually ready to move what's available. Things to do is definitely a big one for the wife and kids as I want them to be happy as well which is why we are definitely planning a trip prior to fully commiting but they are use to small town country living and the harsh winters being from Northern Idaho, although my wife is enjoying the California mild winter weather currently. I'm hopeful if I do decide to go with Savage the mine work keeps that terminal open and busy. Also why I was hoping by luck someone on here was from the Osino terminal to give insight as I have heard elsewhere every terminal is vastly different. Thank you for the insight and reply.
