If you lease or Flease from the hand that feeds you ... Then you should expect to fail ... Those guys in the Dart Digest are hand fed loads ... And paid to put that smile on their face ....

It's not the real world ....

Buy your own truck from a dealer if you can't wait

I guess the moral of the story is read the fine print over and over again and then get somebody else to read the small print over and over again, ever heard the saying " if its sounds to good to be true it probably isn't"

Ok here we go this site is not android friendly at all. Ok Dart will keep you afloat but take home pay subpar if you are an owner op. They are the nicest people to work for who will bend over backwards to help you with breakdowns home time etc. However the owner in my opinion has his head up his blank spot when it comes to being a control freak, Seems this guy is pushing for E-Logs in all trucks and mandatory 65 mph speed limit laws for all trucks nationwide. In other words all trucks will be governed to a max of 65 mph and it won't matter if you are an owner op or not, now he is not alone the Trucking Association and several of the largest carriers want these laws passed to even the playing field. In my view this is not only not safe but counter productive to the free market. These same carries company complain about driver retention yet spend millions of dollars to get laws passed to their liking yet say they can't increase drivers pay? Paying lobbyists in DC ain't cheap baby and especially when it comes to national laws. Now seems the Trucking Association wants all cars set to 65 mph electronically governed, I bet the big three auto makers will love that one. The lawsuits are hurting them the lawyers on tv are scaring them yet we drivers are caught up in the middle and many are uneducated about these facts and those that know don't seem to care. I bet they will when those ol backs and knees start hurting as well as that ol wallet. Now it seems in my opinion they need the E Logs to throw the courts some fresh meat by venue of technically you didn't do this driver you didn't do that thus he will be on the hook for the wrongful death etc. 65 mph all trucks? Seems like there will be long lines of trucks along our interstate system and far more accidents and where will all these people who are pushing for these laws be? At home enjoying their day. These actions will more than likely put thousands of owner ops out of business and run many drivers out of the industry as well. Will it drive rates up? Sure but at what cost? Will the elderly and the poor as well as the middle class be able to afford the goods we move because these carriers are ramming draconian laws up the rear end of the country as a whole? And the drivers that loose everything they have worked for will effect the market in a profound way as they return trucks to dealers who won't be able to sell as many as before. Call your lawmakers as much as possible and demand they stop listening to the lies and stop taking bribes aka lobbyist money from the Trucking Association etc and listen to others like us who are on the ground and known the real deal. We must change the way drivers around the industry are paid and in my opinion pay by the hour is long overdue. Enough of the games time to use the clock to our advantage. If you are job shopping you may wish to reconsider any large carriers because in my opinion their money has gone to their heads.

Dart has been doing this stuff for years. I worked there as a company driver(local), for 3 years. It was a job to get me through the recession, and I left when I found something better. I was treated fairly for the most part, but the thing about Dart is things get done their way. Doesn't matter if you are an O/O, L/O, or a company driver, it gets done the Dart way. If you don't like it, feel free to move on. There will be someone else along to fill your spot. Dart has been around long enough, and everything that they do is in the best interest of Dart, not you or other drivers. As long as there is a stream of people who want to "be their own boss" and not research or crunch the numbers on what it takes to make it and make a decent living, Dart will be filling seats. I understand your frustration and pretty much agree with what you say. Best thing to do is move on, because you are not going to change how Dart does business.

I was waiting for some big expose' on Dart Transit and its management, All you are telling me is what we already know, BTW I paid off 2 trucks in 6 years at Dart, and cleared $85,000 a year. Also I was Driver of The Year in 1998, but that neither here no there.
