A company who never does what they should to try and retain a good driver is not even wasting your time on. Sounds like the new company is a good fit. The hour distance is the only thing that you need to find out about as far as home time. Do you get to bring the truck home, keep a car at a terminal or does someone have to pick you up.

My husband has worked with 3 companies so far, and he has always been able to bring the truck home. We have a small truckstop in town, or he can park at Walmart, or if he is bobtail, at the house. He does usually stay out 2-3 mo at a time though.

 

i do household for a united agent in centreal IL, can i ask who this company is so i can avoid them if i decide to switch? the agent i work for now is pretty good, their desperete for class A drivers and summers coming fast.
