Almost everyone I run across. I never have any problems or issues collecting detention from brokers most of the time.
When I do have a problem there I make a mental note of DNU them and never forget it. A total lack of respect is what it is.
I get it that people have used them and had no problems. There's no problem until there's a problem, right?
The load was a total mess all around. This was 8 or 10 years ago and I was newer to broker shenanigans. Brand new cub cadet riding lawn mowers from Brownsville, TN going to a Home Depot DC in GA somewhere. Showed up on time and wasted hours at the shipper that I didn't get any detention for then showed up for a "scheduled live unload" on time to find out it was a 24-48hrs drop/destination load. This was before I knew that's how all Home Depot DC loads deliver, so do not book those unless you're ok with it. Which I wasn't because that's not what they "sold me". These loads usually paid somewhat higher than market rates due to the 24-48 hr drop/destination and work great for companies with multiple trailers that do drop and hook. But not so good for one truck guys. Scot Lyn, Landstar and a handful of other scummy brokers routinely book these type loads on unsuspecting carriers and never reveal that minor delivery detail. Unethical business as usual...
