Wheels with tires securement, stacks of 8'10" wide Caterpillar wheels. 8'tall stacks. 29k lbs. Question, do you simply x-strap each stack with 2 straps, or do you add a 3rd strap going straight across each stack?

I would do 3 straps on each. I always over secure than throw minimum straps. if you’re lazy than 2 straps on each stack. 3 straps on first one

Always tried to do a minimum of 2 straps as an X pattern, plus one straight across. Seemed to work well. Never had a problem with DOT on it.

I read, these tires cost an astonishing $42,000 EACH! It takes 36 hours to make one tire. Whatever you do, don't lose one,,

You say wheels with tires? As the tires mounted on the wheels and inflated? If so, I would use 3 straps.

Hauling just the bare tires I use 2 straps in a X shape, and make sure the strap lays down in between the outer lugs so they don’t move. But that’s just me. Hauled 3 loads of them from from Yokohama in Grove City, OH to a company in Bluefield, WV with no issues….
