Why and when did you think you the downfall of drivers begin. Not just here. I watched a video of a driver in his personal car doing 130. He posted it and who he works for. Like how are you that comfortable on ending your career.

Last 5 years have been terrible. Lots of people in general that shouldn't be allowed on an e-bike, let alone anything larger. Have had more close calls with "professional" drivers since 2020 than I've ever had in my years leading up to 2020.

I think it's society in general.

I agree. When I started driving in the late 60s the old timers were always complaining about how trucking and truck drivers were getting worse every year.
I've heard the same stories over and over again since then. As society in general becomes more permissive the level of decent behavior declines.
There was no starting point...unless you count the Garden of Eden.

I would disagree only to the idea that social media is the culprit. We've been going down this ugly road long before social media came into play.

It's also along the lines of other societal woes. It used to be more challenging to see a transgression happen. There is more population per acre so more bad behavior per acre. Along with the rapid spread of misdeeds on all the media amplifying the deeds. Couldn't fire up the laptop and look at a video of a crash 2500 miles away back then.......

Throughout my lifetime I have noticed a general disregard for others on the road. It seems to just get worse with each succeeding generation. Truck drivers in general these days don't seem to have a clue what it is to have pride in their profession. It's just something that they do to get the cash, nothing else seems to matter. Now that the colonization of our country is in full swing, we will have even more people who have no idea about safe driving on the roads, many of them won't speak english, or understand the road signs and really won't care.

Training and responsibility are lacking. No accountability for bad behavior and it starts very early in our lives. This is a society going in the wrong direction and saying we are heading in the right direction (wrong). Distracted driving makes it even worse. I'm amazed at all the gadgets in the windshield nowadays. Who's driving when I'm watching movies :rolleyes:o_O
