Are you leased on with someone that has to ok it? I always just assumed it was the owner or driver.
-
well if he signs that he repaired it where does the magic come from? following your logic you would go on duty when cleaning the inside, doing the armor all, etc.
you can log on duty for work on the truck but I nor 99 per cent of the rest of the population is going to do that.Steeleandsonfarms Thanks this. -
might be best to repair before noting on the VIR if they are so anal retentive about clearing it for youSteeleandsonfarms Thanks this.

I would not have noted it in the first place.
But, you have to consider the side of dot. How did you as a driver certify this repair was done?
You then state, I did it.
Mr. DOT then looks and says when?
Now, false log.
Do whatever you want. -
im confused..................

Duh. He's a certified magician!barnmonkey and BigBadBill Thank this.

I don't get it. Why would you put anything about your truck on a VIR if you are going to fix it right away?
If you had to cross a scale is the only way I would write anything down just in case Mr. Dot lifted the hood.
Obviously you are leased to someone?
Your truck, sign off, be done, and don't answer to no one.scottied67 Thanks this. -
And there lies the problem. Michigan DOT at the scale house would have ate me alive for no vir and when he popped the hood there would have been no serpentine belt nor idler.
Yes. I am running solutions for expedite under Covenant -
Well the next question is do you own that truck outright or are you leasing from Covenant?
If so you should know that the lease contract most certainly prevents you from wrenching on that truck. That is probably the problem at Covenant.
